Successful Treatment of Recurrent Longitudinally Extensive Transverse Myelitis With Mycophenolate Mofetil
Bin Chang-Hun

Park Min-Su
Abstract
Recurrent longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis (LETM) is considered as a neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) uppresses T and B cell proliferation and inhibits antibody production. A 49-year-old female presented with recurrent LETMs which were poor response to interferon and long-term oral predisolone. Over the following 17 months of treatment with MMF, she was relapse free and well tolerated to MMF. This is the first report on the effectiveness of MMF for NMOSD in Korea.
